About me

My name is Jorge Aguirre. Though I am a lawyer with experience in the field of education, teaching Roman Law, English and History of Western Culture, I always wanted to be an animator and illustrator so I could put the stories in my head down on paper.

I've been practicing art for several years. My strongest points are backgrounds for animation and vector graphics. I also do digital paintings, character design and pixel art. I work in a broad range of mediums, both digital (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator) and traditional.

I also have more than eight years of experience in video editing. I am very familiar with Sony Vegas and have some experience with Flash, After Effects and TV Paint.

What kind of work do you do?
  • Conceptual illustrations
  • Character design
  • Backgrounds
  • Logos and typography
  • Publicity
  • Presentations for educational or commercial purposes.
  • Video editing
  • Video SFX (including green screen and multi-plane.)
  • Photography and photographic manipulation.
Why "Guarapito?"

Back when I was much younger, every afternoon my family would get together for a cup of coffee. The light, easy blend of the "guarapo" (coffee with a bit of water to run it thin) was a common part of those pleasant hours. When I draw, I feel the same, content feeling that I got back in those happier days.
